Crisis Leadership and Strategic Expansion for a Sustainable Growth Akdital's Journey in Moroccan Health Ecosystem

Author : Azzeddine Allioui

Synopsis

In 2011, Akdital, founded by Dr. Rochdi Talib and Dr. Fatima Akdim, set out to redefine healthcare in Morocco, starting with the Jerrada Clinic in the city of Casablanca. Over the next decade, the company expanded its network of 22 facilities, establishing itself as a key player in medical services. The strategic expansion was guided by their vision of making healthcare accessible to a wider population while maintaining high standards of care. Despite these achievements, Akdital faces several significant challenges. Rapid expansion through new facilities and acquisitions has raised concerns about maintaining consistent quality of care across its network. The pressure of managing investor expectations post-IPO adds complexity to sustaining long-term financial performance without compromising sustainability goals. Additionally, while the company demonstrated agility during the crisis, the integration of these crisis management practices into its long-term strategy remains an open question.
